Artists will learn the value of a sketchbook as a visual diary, a space to figure out compositions, and a judgement free zone. We will work en plein air, outdoors, using simple portable materials like pencil, pen and ink, and watercolor. Students should supply their own bound, 9x12 sketchbook with at least 100 sheets. Additionally, artists will have the opportunity to create community art work which will become a part of our town’s environment.
Artists will create art about and with the landscape around them. We will look for inspiration from nature and learn how shapes and forms in the natural world influence our visual vocabularies. We will work en plein air, outdoors. Additionally, artists will have the opportunity to create community art work which will become a part of our town’s environment.
