Ryan Townsend is an art educator at Swampscott High School. He has a Bachelors degree in Studio Art and Anthropology, and a Master’s in Teaching Art from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. His primary mediums include ceramics and painting/drawing. Beyond making and teaching visual art, he enjoys cooking & baking, exploring in the outdoors, and traveling locally & internationally.

In this one week clay experience, we will build off of an understanding of clay, ceramics, and artistic expression! Students will apply various techniques in handbuilding or wheel-throwing. We will develop a better understanding of shapes and techniques, decorative styles, and best practices with the material in order to create usable and food ready ceramic pieces to take home. At the end, we will heat up the work in the kiln and students will be able to pick up their work to take home.

* Adjustments and discounts will be applied during checkout if applicable. *
