Native seeds need to experience “winter” in order to germinate. In this class Erin, owner of The New Yankee Garden will present several methods to mimic nature to help get seeds started for spring.
Topics will include:
- The importance of native plants
- Best places to get native seeds and some native plant resources
- Methods to pretreat seeds, including winter sowing and refrigerator stratification
Participants will be provided with the materials for a variety of starting methods and seeds to get started on their own native plant gardens.
